Jul 13 MARGENI: In Tune With Sustainability

Declared MARGENI Co-Founder Mariam Zeinhom when asked about the business in the midst of the pandemic. Initially an Evening Wear Atelier, specializing in modern cocktail and evening garments, MARGENI understood that the only way to survive the pandemic was to shift, pivot and adapt.

With everyone stuck at home, they launched the MARGENI Resort Collection a minimalist daywear line focused on quality and sustainability.

Incentivized by the responsibility towards their employees to maintain a steady income, and the inability to forecast the return of social events, the company’s co-founders Yevgeniya and Mariam had to make a quick and risky decision to completely alter their core product.

This bold move clearly payed off when they sold out completely within the first 2 weeks of their launch, while maintaining their full team.

However, this comes as no surprise since social responsibility is nothing new to this brand. MARGENI is focused on being ethical, paying their employees 30% higher than the biggest market players and offering exemplary work conditions.

Proving that flexible business models that focus on customer demand, social responsibility and slow fashion as well as an ethical work culture is the way to go.

The brand was able to tap into a niche we all know and love, but can’t seem to find enough of.

“While it seemed impossible to re-visit our entire supply chain in these challenging times, it is the best decision we’ve ever made.” explained Yevgeniya Rb, co-founder of Margeni.
