AUGUST MONTH IN CURATION 2024

AUGUST MONTH IN CURATION 2024

Welcome to one of my most loved times of the year, which is fall or autumn or the end of summer and the beginning of what I feel is truly the most incredible and energetically charged part of the year.

I think this month in curation is potentially my favorite one I’ve ever done, because it truly encompasses everything I love as a Curator, and pieces I’ve actually bought, used and loved. I think this time of the year gets such a bad rep, because although summer is glorious but the way I see it is that we absorb all the sun to share it as energy for the rest of the year, until the next season of beautiful gorgeous sun kissed summer night.

Curation 1: MIMI’S BOUTIQUE VINTAGE

For this particular curation I have to start with a recommendation that is both a life-hack and absolute gem of a find, which is Mimi’s Boutique an incredibly unique brand that sells high quality vintage earrings. I love their selection, variety and quality. One disclaimer is that these pieces are heavyyy but if you can do it for fashion, so so worth it!

Curation 2: FARM MIO DRESSES

Lately, I haven’t been into colorful pieces, patterns or anything of the sort, entering my minimal era apparently. BUT BUT BUT the Farm Rio dress selection has officially changed my mind, because I love a conversation starter and that is what these dresses are. This is absolutely my vibe, a dress that mixes the minimal with the maximal. An unforgettable piece.

Curation 3: ZARA BLACK MINI CLUTCH

I love nothing more than a good mini clutch from Zara, because let’s be honest sometimes you don’t want to drag your fragile Prada Cleo in white across the world and have it fall on the floor off the back of your chair at Sachi, no thank you. This is one of the best clutches Zara has done in years, and it comes in a gorgeous red too.

Rarely do I find a new perfume brand that makes me feel it’s worth switching from my very specific curated selection of perfumes that I LOVE, which I can also share with you guys at some point. This brand however was worth the splurge, it’s a Korean brand called Born To Stand Out and this specific scent DRUNK LOVERS is to die for. A sexy and delicious blend of red berries and boozy cognac, with slightly earthy patchouli, spice, amber and warm woods. This was an absolutely elite discovery, but since I don’t gatekeep, and similar to my previous predictions like ON Running shoes, this brand will be the next major niche perfume brand.

Curation 5: CARTIER MINI TANK

I was never a watch girl until I met the Tank. If you’re looking for the perfect feminine watch that translates seamless from night to day. This watch is available in stainless steel with leather straps and steel options. I love the square shape and demure aesthetic. It’s the perfect quartz watch.

Curation 6: KAREN WAZEN SUNGLASSES SIENNA IN TORTOISE

I have stopped myself from buying new shades in the past couple of years, because to be honest nothing was really attracting my attention. Lately, I have been loving the Karen Wazen pieces and specifically the larger more 90’s inspired pieces and this particular pair of shades I love.

Curation 7: BILLINI HEELS

I am in my kitten heel era, but aren’t we all? I think there’s a time and place for platform heels, but at the moment I feel much more comfortable in kitten keels and these are to die for.

Curation 8: MC2 SAINT BARTH

I was first introduced to this brand through men’s swimwear, which I think MC2 do better than anyone else, but recently I fell in love with their raffia bags. Not the towel bags, not the small clutches or the Fiorucci collaboration but specifically the raffia bag. They’re perfect for summer and fall.

Curation 9: THE DAILY STOIC BY RYAN HOLIDAY

This book is for those who feel like they want to learn more but ‘‘don’t have the time”, of course we all have the time but I’llget into that on another day. I love the daily lessons, the stoic mindset and Ryan’s curation of all the stoic content into this one refined bible-style book. It lives on my bedside table.

Curation 10: GOLOKO LEMOON BOWLS

I’ll end this month’s curation with something that made me smile and so I hope it will do the same for you, and that’s these mini pieces of art from GOLOKO in the form of fun and delicious looking lemon bowls. A spicy piece that I believe would live perfectly in the summer house or guest room!

For every look there is a season; and for every season a strategy.
