I didn't love him.
I wanted to. I even really believed he was “the one”… for the longest time … he was everything to me.
He asked, and I said yes.
I didn’t even think about it.
Didn’t consider what I was giving him.
Myself. Forever?
“You’re too young, too beautiful, too this, too that, to do this now …” I heard so many opinions.
Background noise.
I wore the white dress, and chose red lipstick, to taint my words with blood.
Unconventional some would say, for a bride.
The flowers came raining in, framing the faces of everyone I’d ever known, standing and asking one monumental questions … Will they make it?
I ran away from our love.
Because it wasn’t love.
I LOVED MYSELF MORE.
